CCIC’s CEO Timothy Lepa said Southern Region will be given two passes because of the number of interest that has been displayed.
“Southern Legs
interest has been very good with the help of our hard working technical team.
That is the reason why I am going to give them two gold passes.” He said.
He confirmed that some challenges were called off and other matches around the
country have progressed well.
“Competition in Buka and Namatanai were called off due to lack of information given by the club directors while West New Britain’s challenge will commence
on March 3rd-5th.
"Northern challenge that was supposed to
be held in Wewak was moved back to Morobe Province in Lae because most
interested teams came from Madang, Kainantu and most teams in Wewak did not
show much interest," He Said.
Lepa said despite a bit of grey patch, the highlands region competition was running without any major problems.
He said the Eastern Highlands competition which started last Saturday will play their grand final today while in Simbu province, John Dege Sinesine brothers won a golden pass after being crowned the Simbu Champions.
"Western
Highlands and Enga will play off their challenge on the 6th and 7th
of March,” Lepa said.
The playoffs for CCIC will end in March with all golden pass winners to advance to the finals of the CCIC with players hoping to impress scouts from Enga Mioks, Simbu Lions, Mendi Murruks and other clubs.
